2018

Production: 7A Films

Client: Soho House

Drone aerial filming at Mollies Motel & Diner, the latest project for Soho House. Working alongside London based production crew at 7A Films with director Glen Milner filming day and night in freezing conditions.

Production: 14-18 NOW

Client: Danny Boyle

‘Pages of the Sea’

A 400 mile drive, torrential rain, flooded roads, howling gales, to film the 50m x 50m portrait created in the sand on Swansea Bay by the Sand in Your Eye team. This was a part of the national project set up by director Danny Boyle for the Armistice Day celebrations where portraits were drawn on beaches around the country. We flew our drones at the limit of their ability in adverse conditions. But we got the shot.

Production: Nine Lives Media

Client: Channel 5

‘Murdered or Missing’ The Lee Boxell Documentary

A complex shoot arranging permissions at various locations in south London including Crystal Palace FC. The sensitive subject matter included filming the parents of the missing teenager. All planning and filming was undertaken independently without a director on location.

Production: Avanti Media

Client: Channel 4

‘Mary Rose’ The Lost Battleships of Henry VIII

This included the Trigger Air team on an 8m inflatable RIB boat with the film and sound crew from Avanti Media plus Ian A Hunt shooting and directing, so a bit of a tight squeeze in the choppy waters of the Solent with pleasure cruisers, power boats and car ferries oblivious to the swell we were dealing with. So hand launching our Inspire 2 was order of the day as we filmed a 2nd RIB with a presenter onboard at the very location where the Mary Rose sank. Fortunately everyone survived and no fingers were lost at sea.

Production: Vidoo Film

Client: Anglian Water

Aerial filming on a windy grey day at Rutland and Grafham Water with the production team from Vidoo. We’ve worked with director Neil Horsman on many productions and he keeps coming back. The film was for a marketing promo for Anglian Water and despite the blazing summer of 2018 there was plenty of water in the reservoirs be enjoyed by the windsurfers and fishermen.

Production: Cambridge Filmworks

Client: Park Air

Park Air make electronic equipment for air traffic control centres around the world and we were commissioned to fly inside their manufacturing centre. We’ve worked with Cambridge Filmworks on many occasions and they understood the challenges involved flying the Inspire 2 in a restricted and sensitive environment like this. Flying indoors demands increased planning and concentration from the drone pilot as the restrictions of space and a lack of drone GPS signal means there is a reduced allowance for flight error and correction.

Production: 7A Films

Client: Soho House

Drone aerial filming at Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath in London at The Soho House Summer Festival. Working alongside a full production crew at 7A Films based in London we were on a 12 hour schedule in the blazing heat, filming The Manic Street Preachers, Nile Rogers & Chic and Rita Ora in concert presented by James Cordon and other celebs.

Production: Cambridge Filmworks

Client: University of Cambridge

The centre of Cambridge has to be one of the most complex locations to fly a drone outside of London. With historic buildings in all directions and tourists wandering the intricate network of streets and college grounds, gaining drone permission can be a painstaking process. Flying a uav at one of the most iconic locations at Kings College in Cambridge would therefore be impossible without having access to the right contacts. As professional drone operators with extensive commercial experience and a 100% safety record, our drone team was given access and permission in order to capture exclusive aerial imagery of King’s College.

Production: Brand Filmworks

Client: Ring Powercraft

Full production of a short film from concept to delivery including ground and aerial drone footage of a new 10m military RIB boat with 600hp motors built by Ring Powercraft based in West Sussex. Working alongside the manufacturer and renowned power boat champion Mike Ring under a pressurised deadline we directed a special forces team and camera crew onboard the boat. This included flying the Inspire 2 drone at 50mph following the RIB with full crew out at sea fitted with an array of weaponry.

Production: Cambridge Filmworks

Client: Cambridge City Council

Drone aerial filming of the parkland at Cherry Hinton Hall in Cambridge to display the collection of rare and amazing trees. Flying drones in public spaces always requires adequate planning to ensure the safety of members of the public. This means flying our uav’s within the regulatory guidelines set out by the Civil Aviation Authority. These can vary depending on the commercial operators individual ‘permissions’ or ‘operational safety case’ specified in their operations manual. The standard permission for qualified drone operators is to maintain 50m separation from the drone and those people, buildings and vehicles not under control of the drone pilot. If you are a hobby flier without a ‘PfCO’ you must maintain 150m separation in congested areas.
